Michele Witchipoo was born and raised in New York City. A self-taught artist, she learned how to cartoon by watching Hanna Barbera animation and reading Peanuts newspaper strips from a very early age. During her teen years that she discovered underground/counterculture music, film and comics, such as Love and Rockets. All of these influences would have an effect on Michele for years, and still continues today.

Michele's self-published work has led to being published by other companies. The list includes: MTV Books, A Raven Above Press, The Brooklyn Rail website, Hamtramck Idea Men, and others.
Other influences range with a variety of subjects, ranging from pop culture, different subcultures, comparative religions, film, literature, and of course, her hometown. In addition, she has been influenced by the following: Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Dada, Surrealism, Pop Art, Post-Modernism, Neo-Classical, vintage illustration, retro Graphic Design, and of course anything comicbook and graphic novel related.
In addition, Michele's artwork has also been exhibited in New York City and Los Angeles. She applies a variety of fine arts skills as well as Adobe design programs, Final Cut, photography, and creative writing.
